For the families

More than a bike trip.

SilverStar runs 16 km of marked hiking and trail-running paths. The summer Gondola lifts non-bikers to the alpine for the views. Kids can take the Gnome Roam trail hunt and the seasonal Wildflower Walk.

Vernon and Kalamalka Lake are 25 minutes down the hill. Pack a picnic, swim, come back to the condo for the evening.

Down at the lake

One of the most photographed lakes in BC.

Kalamalka means “lake of many colours” for a reason. The mineral content turns the shallows turquoise on a sunny day. Ten minutes from Vernon, twenty-five from the condo. Pack a picnic at the base, swim in the morning, ride the Bike Park in the afternoon, back to the condo by sunset.

Vernon also has wineries, farm stands, full-size grocery stores, and Kelowna airport sits 50 minutes south for the fly-in crowd.

“You can be at altitude in pine trees by ten and at the lake by noon. Then back to the condo for sunset.” The Okanagan, in summer
